- The Make Activity
- First (Part 1)
- Observe a demonstration to understand how adding and removing thermal energy impacts on average kinetic energy.
- Rotate through two stations, in small groups of three or four.
- In Station 1, students will observe how food coloring interacts with different water temperatures.
- In Station 2, students will investigate phase change through a butter boat activity.
- Second (Part 2)
- Observe a demonstration to understand how adding and removing thermal energy can cause changes in pressure.
- Complete an online simulation about pressure, individually, or in small groups.
- Revisit the pressure demonstration to develop a deeper understanding of thermal energy and average kinetic energy.
