Genetic Variation - Mosa Mack Science

Time Required: 150 minutes

In The Lab, students will:

Create two alien families in order to explore both the processes and outcomes as they relate to genetic variation. One alien family will reproduce sexually and one will reproduce asexually.
Communicate the difference between asexual and sexual reproduction.

Standards

MS-LS3-2: Develop and use a model to describe why asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information and sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation.
